Patient Care Technician Level I Certificate
The Patient Care Technician Program prepares students to provide direct patient care under the guidance of nurses, physicians and other Healthcare professionals in a variety of healthcare settings, including long-term and acute care facilities.
As a Certified Patient Care Technician, a student may perform some or all of the following tasks:
- Provide direct patient care to include hygiene and comfort measures, vital signs, and other activities of daily living
- Obtain ECG (electrocardiograph) readings
- Perform phlebotomy procedures
Recommended Program of Study
The Patient Care Technician Certificate will be conferred to students who:
- complete all of the courses with the letter grade of 'C' or better
- complete all lab hours satisfactorily
- meet all clinical hours and requirements in a satisfactory manner
