Dual Credit Programs

The dual credit program at Lamar State College Port Arthur allows high school students beginning in the 9th grade to take college classes that count for both high school and college credit at the same time. Students may take classes toward career and technical education certifi8cates and degrees as well as general education courses to satisfy the Texas Core Curriculum requirements.

High school students must meet the college readiness standards via the TSIA2, SAT, or ACT. Additionally, dual credit students may use PSAT or STAAR EOC scores to demonstrate college readiness. LSCPA offers some courses and certificates which do not require college readiness.
